About Carl Trader
My name is Carl and I have been successfully trading
In-Play Horse Racing Markets since 2014.
I was taught by many successful Betfair traders over the years and I have come up with my own profitable in-play betting strategies.
In addition, I have traded stocks and futures in financial markets at a propriety trading firm. This experience helped me to further fine-tune my sports trading.
Now I have taught dozens of aspiring traders to increase their trading profits with Betfair's in-play horse racing trading.
Why my trading strategies are better than others:
- My strategies are defined in a clear and understandable way, so it's easy to learn them.
- I only trade with a bank of £250 in winter and £320 in summer and turn it into +£400 +£500 days regularly, and sometimes +£1000 days. You cannot get such high % returns with pre-race, or scalping strategies. Recently Betfair has improved its video stream speed. This has made it even better for in-play traders that are trading from home.
- With my strategies, you can expect there will be at least one opportunity, almost every single race, which allows you to get in the flow state, which is very key for good trading, and great for your psychology.
- Even though there are many horse racing trading strategies out there, it’s hard to find good strategies that you can trade easily and profitably.
- My strategies produce consistent profits, and in the process, don’t produce much stress. In comparison, to that popular strategy, when you back a good running horse that you expect to win, and then you eagerly sit and wait for a long time for the odds coefficient to drop.
- You don’t have to be glued to one particular horse for the whole race and be afraid to miss the trade opportunity. I am not studying the horse racing form before races, because I only look at price ladders and the live video feed, and I make all of the trade decisions based on that given information.

Read MoreThis is the definitive guide to In Play trading. The course teaches many different ways into a race covering 5 furlongs to 4 mile races, what to look out for and how to execute the trade. I have taken part in a few well known trading courses however this is far superior and is a complete package. Carl explains the trades and re runs the videos going through where price movements happen and how to react to them. Importantly Carl covers risk management very well and how to set up your software, the phycological aspect is huge and looking after your bank is THE most important aspect of trading for me. I would be very confident in saying you wont be disapointed with the content and you certainly wont need to try any other courses!!

Read MoreI purchased the course 3 years ago, and I thought it was about time I wrote a review. I had signed up for many online courses before this, and this is by far the best out there. There are around 100 videos now on the training site. There are specific training videos where Carl goes through the setup and entries. The training covers various types of races, from jumps to flats, with examples ranging from 5f all the way up to 3m. In addition to the training videos, there are bonus videos showcasing Carl as he trades over a few days, which he verbally annotates. What I enjoyed about the course was the fact that you could approach the market with no prior knowledge and just work the ladder. With a bit of experience, you will quickly pick up the types of strategies to deploy based on the market dynamics. For the past two years, I have had only one losing month, which shows that the training and strats are still working in 2024. Thanks to Carl for putting this detailed course out there! If you are looking for a course, then don't hesitate in purchasing... consider it as an investment in yourself.

Read MoreAfter trading on and off for a couple of years, I decided to purchase Carl's course. The strategies may not be that different from what I knew before however I can now see that I was executing these in the wrong way. Carl explains in detail exactly what to look for during the race and most importantly where to get involved with a safe risk to reward ratio. There are many different videos for each strategy in various different scenarios showing it in real time and also video analysis where Carl explains the reasoning of why he entered at certain points. I would recommend this course for anyone looking to get involved with in-play trading. I have noticed a difference in my trading already and I'm going to continue to use what I have learnt in this course to consistently make profits from the in-play markets.

Read MoreI’m actually completely new to this type of trading but I have some basic trading and punting experience. At first I was struggling to understand the ladders but I watched some basic videos that Carl sent me to get the hang of geeks toy. Once I had a good understanding I started the course, the videos are very in depth and after a while I’ve managed to really get a good understanding of the methods taught. I’m really looking forward to getting started and I will refer back to the course for reference throughout my trading journey. Fully recommend to anyone who’s looking at making money in play!

Read MoreHello guys, I have been completely new to inplay horse racing and found out about this course of Carl and I have to say that it is worth every dollar! In the beginning, it was important to me to understand the foundations, which for me were: - using geekstoy properly - a clean setup every time a race starts - looking for mistakes on horses - and the most important thing: RISK MANAGEMENT all things considered, Carl mentioned everything perfectly in his course - really in-depth tutorial for every kind of situation I would of course still consider myself as a "low Intermediate" but I have managed to get +144€ within the past 5 days using 3€ stakes only. I studied his course a lot, watching some videos several times to really understand what and why he was doing certain moves. To sum it up: I highly recommend this course - you learn how to spot opportunities, risk management and get a feeling when to enter and when to exit Oliver

Read MoreI've always been a fan of horse racing and been backing horses for years and going to race meetings etc. I always wanted to have a go at trading in play on betfair but didn't know where to start. I came across Carl's trading course and after a week of pondering I finally decided to do it. The course is very informative and you really do learn a great deal and it's a massive head start into the trading world. After completing the course I had a play with small stakes and soon learnt that Carl is right in all his tips and advice. You really do have to be disciplined and stick to what works for you. Recently I have been recording decent profits on the odd evening meetings and a day off work here and there can be made up of trading income. Thank you Carl

Read LessWho am I?
- 9+ years professional horse racing in-play trader, making on average +£4000 to +£8000 a month.
- 3 years stock trader. 1 year worked in proprietary futures trading office where guys made good 6 figures a year.
- Over the years have consulted many guys for free, to increase their in-play trading profits, because I love trading and I like to tell others about the nice edges I have
- I have created a learning program, and lots of people have increased their trading performance and profits using the strategies and edges I explain in the course.
Why do you need to have this course, if you are into in-play trading?
- Becoming good at trading without quality education is super hard, and very expensive.
- I had bought a few videos of a guy showing his profitable trading, and all he said was I need to feel the market. And then it took me a year of trial and error, to slowly learn how the in-play markets work.
- And now after 8 years of trading, I am explaining all of the important things I am doing when trading. And teaching you what I have learned during my experience.
- I wouldn’t say I have some secret edge, but I do have some 50 small edges, that I know and am looking every time when trading, and that bring me small profits constantly. Whereas back in the day it would bring me many loses because of not knowing these edges.
- Every one of these small edges has cost me thousands over the years. and I wish I had a course like this one, when I started. Explaining me how the markets work and where to profit. And where are the dangerous zones, where I should be very careful, or not trade at all, and save money by not losing it. So, by learning this course you will save lots of money, compared to, learning from your own mistakes.
What will you get from this course?
- 100+ videos, 6h+ of high value content (not putting up videos with little value, just to add content)
- I often record my trading screens, and then as I rewatch the videos I explain my thinking at every important moment of the race, what am I looking at, what I am expecting, what the strategies are, where the edges are, where the risks are, where you should get in and get out, take the loss, what you should watch out for. What price patterns I see on the ladder, what signals I see on the video by watching the horses. What characteristics there are for every type of race, and field formations, and price movements.
-
2 days of full trading sessions, where you can see all the good and bad trades I made.
What problems will you have if you don’t get on this course?
- If you have nice strategies and system, you can enjoy the learning process, and progress nicely. And develop good foundation of good trading habits, which is very key for professional trading.
- You will lose money where you should not even be trading. So, one mistake and a big loser can be the cost of this course.
- Not knowing some angles of the markets can produce you constant loses, and frustration over your trading career, like it was for me, where for years I though why I always keep making losers on NHF races, when turns out that reversal strategies are not working in these.
- You will develop bad trading habits, because randomness of the results will teach you that some bad things you are doing, are good, and some good things you are doing bad.
- While you can be shortening your learning curve, and start making profits soon by learning from a pro, you will still be progressing slowly on your own.
- If you are profitable trader already, it’s even harder to move to next level without examples from a pro trader, who already is on the next level.
What you need to have to be able to trade on a pro-level:
Great and stable internet connection. The closer you are to UK the better. I am mostly trading from Finland, Helsinki, using VPN, and from my calculations, I am losing around 0.2-0.3 sec to the guys in the UK. Since I am counting 150ms to receive data, and 150ms to send it. When I was living in London, and short time in Manchester, it did feel that the bets get filled faster, but not by much. So most of my strategies are based on not being within the first guys who move the price.
Decent computer. Don’t need anything very special, but slow laptops might cause some lag when trading, so good CPU is needed. No need for good video card, even if using 3 monitors. Since geeks toy uses CPU power.
Two monitors or one bigger one. I have traded from a laptop when I travel, but it's hard. Two monitors are needed.
Trading software. I use Geeks Toy, but there are Betangel or Gruss, etc. they cost around 20GBP per 3 months. If you have MAC, then you need that emulation software, like Bootcamp or others.
Betfair capital. I am using max daily exposure of £250 to £320 using £20-£30 stakes, but if you are rather new, and starting a live account, then you can trade with as low as £30-£50 bank if using £3-£5 stakes.
